Climbing To The Top

It's the slow season at my day job, so my hours have been cut back. I'm using the extra time to promote my art. I've set up an account at Patreon (link) to find people who'd like to be a patron of the arts, or those who just plain feel sorry for me because I have to try to survive in the real world. I'm also pushing art out of my online store (link). I'm not forgetting my bread and butter. Here's more new art:

The latest video of my art:

Give 'Em What They Want

It's been a pretty good week. I've been making sure I paint at least thirty minutes every day. They say if you do something every day for thirty days it becomes a habit. I'm about five days away from making that my habit. I've also been drawing every day. It doesn't seem like something an artist should have to think about doing, but life beats me down at times and I just want to lay in my bed and do nothing. That's not going to be acceptable for me anymore. I create every day and I promote every day. I'll climb the mountain, no matter what. Okay, here's what you came for. New art:

The Cream Always Rises

This week finds me in a much better mood. I've made it a point to draw and paint every day. It's made me feel a lot better. I also have two shoe commissions, two painting commissions, and a few miscellaneous painting sales. Hard work pays off I reckon. I'm in the middle of posting each step I paint in two different paintings. It was kinda cool at first, but it's made me feel more than a bit exposed. I'll probably do something similar again sometime, not sometime soon more than likely, but I'll keep putting myself out there. I'm always gonna have those paintings I never show anyone though. Just don't tell anybody. Now, more new, as of yet titled art:

Now that I Have Your Attention

I'm very happy with the response to my last post. So, here's more of what I've got. New paintings. Unposted paintings. Paintings to soothe what ails you. It's also a chance for me to remind you that you can buy my art at www.DougBaltzArt.com . If you see something on here that you like, please contact me at DougBaltz@GMail.com and we can make arrangements for you to purchase it. In the mean time, here's more art:

The Truth

I've done my best to post regularly on here. I know at least a few people are reading this blog. I aim to be upbeat, funny, and truthful. I don't think it's been nearly as funny as I would like for it to be.
I was taking stock of things the other day. I saw a stack of paintings I need to photograph, and I have dozens of pictures that I haven't posted yet. I always think my production is down, but that never seems to be the case. It may be because I used to paint big, and now my normal painting is about one fourth the size of my usual size of fifteen years ago. It's helped keep me inspired since I can work out ideas rather quickly.
So, here's what I'm gonna do. I'm gonna post raw pictures of my paintings. I don't have names for them yet, but I do have quite a few gems in this batch. This is also gonna help me by seeing how to post multiple paintings on here. Cross your breath. Here goes.

Times Are Tight

I'm trying to give a push to my art sales. My day job has been slow and the bills keep coming. I've sold a couple pairs of shoes, and I've been promoting my Shopify store ( link ), so I've been doing okay. It's funny how motivated you can be when sales make the difference between working an extra shift at the soul sucking day job and taking an extra day off to ship some art to some lucky soul. I've got my plans laid, I just need to get on the stick. I'm planning a Patreon page, which I'll keep you posted on, but I haven't been able to get all the necessary things together to post. It's all on me. I've had days where I could barely get out of bed. Days where I've spent all my time running errands and fixing things. Excuses are for losers. I've said it a thousand times. I'll definitely get things going. I'm too close to success to quit.
Now, here's the two latest paintings I sold:
"Avian Spector"
"Penguins Have Those Days Too"
